We are delighted to announce that 201 Grafton Gate has been shortlisted for the AJ Retrofit & Reuse – Future Reuse Award.
The awards celebrate excellence in architectural innovation, recognising projects that demonstrate outstanding expertise in the adaptation and reuse of existing buildings, materials, and structures in response to the climate emergency.
Working in close collaboration with Osborne+Co, we have delivered the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of 201 Grafton Gate, formerly the Santander UK headquarters in Milton Keynes. Rebranded as Verve, the development transforms more than 20,000 sqm of Grade A office space into a contemporary, sustainable workplace. The scheme also introduces new ground-floor retail, enhanced public realm, and a striking infill glazed atrium that unifies the building and creates a vibrant new destination.
By retaining the existing building structure, the redevelopment is expected to reduce embodied carbon emissions by approximately 40% compared with an equivalent new-build development, demonstrating the significant environmental benefits of adaptive reuse.
We are now excited to be working with John Sisk & Son Ltd to bring this transformative vision to life. Verve will continue to play a vital role in the evolution of Milton Keynes, strengthening the city’s position as a leading regional business hub.
