We’re delighted to share the first images of NatWest’s new twelve-storey workplace in Bengaluru, India, housing its IT and digital operations division.

NatWest commissioned LOM to develop the concept and interior design for this new facility, working  closely with NatWest’s UK and India property teams to ensure NatWest’s Workplace+ design principles were applied consistently, while reflecting local cultural influences and wellbeing needs.

Supporting collaboration and wellbeing

LOM transformed the office into a flexible, branded workspace that supports productivity, collaboration, and employee wellbeing. The design concept covered every stage of the employee journey, from the ground-floor reception through to communal spaces, training spaces, and wellness areas. We ensured the project balanced NatWest’s UK branding with regional relevance, and by working with local designers the project maintained cultural sensitivity and authenticity throughout. The design featured local textures, colours, and art references to reflect Bengaluru’s vibrant urban identity.

Key design features include a generous reception and welcome area with large display screens and flexible furniture to create a dynamic space and immediate sense of brand identity. The workplace floors are open-plan, interspersed with breakout zones, focus rooms, and social areas to support hybrid working. Large training and interview suites support up to 100 interviews daily.

“The completed workplace has successfully delivered a modern, flexible, and culturally responsive environment”

Wellbeing and social spaces include yoga and gaming zones, cafés, and flexible event areas that can be booked for team celebrations and cultural activities. The Cricket Zone is a standout entertainment feature providing indoor cricket space, inspired by India’s love for cricket and NatWest’s long-standing sponsorship of the sport. Biophilic design throughout the scheme is achieved through integration of natural materials, greenery, and colour palettes inspired by the vibrant local culture.

After completing the concept design and visualisation, LOM handed the package to a local multidisciplinary team for detailed design and construction, remaining involved as design guardians to ensure quality and brand alignment. The completed workplace has successfully delivered a modern, flexible, and culturally responsive environment that captured the NatWest ethos while celebrating local identity.
